September 25, 2018: Exploring my property while looking for a new contractor

The search for a new contractor continues. Meanwhile, I am settling in. I created a woodland office so I have a comfortable place to meet with contractors. (Photo 1) I cleared Himalayan blackberry brambles that were growing along a section of the ravine’s edge that jutted into the ravine, dropped wood chips, and planted a lawn chair so I can enjoy some seated forest bathing while figuring out where to safely build a trail deeper into the ravine. (Photo 2) I installed a trail cam to find out what creatures, other than deer and rabbits, share my property. (Photo 3) And when my 20+ year old tent ripped beyond repair I removed the fabric and decided to use the pop-up frame to build a tent-like structure. I’m not sure whether I’m building a duck house for Lucy, a photo blind for me, or perhaps both. I’ll have to see what emerges from the materials I gather. (Photo 4)
