As a chemically sensitive person two of the biggest challenges to long term camping are doing my laundry and shampooing my hair. I can’t use laundromats because of the fragrance residue left from other people’s detergent and fabric softeners, and campground showers often reek of the previous user’s scented soaps and shampoos. I bought a small hand cranked clothes washer, which I used for the first time today. And, I have an ionic hair brush that will extend the time between shampoos. There is a small handheld shower head in the camper but my hair is too long and I am too claustrophobic to use it for a shampoo. I will take my chances with the campground showers. And I will do multiple loads of wash as soon as the appliances are installed in my house in December or January.
