October 7, 2016: My search for a healthy home begins

I finally left southern Californial to head to the Pacific Northwest to find a new place to live that is safe for a chemically sensitive person. It took almost two years to create the vehicle I need to be able to travel without being exposed to fragrance, cigarette smoke, etc. Here is the interior of my Sprinter, outfitted with materials to which I don’t react.

After months of anticipating the worst that could happen I am ready to shift gears and focus on expecting the best to happen. The worst that could happen is that despite the precautions I have taken I could have a fatal seizure. The best that could happen is that I could find the perfect home in my first week there.

I am traveling with my pet duck, Lucy, and my oldest cat, Ewan, who is hard of hearing and requires medicine three times a day. Lucy is curious about everything she sees and maintains a cooing chatter. Ewan is terrified by everything he sees and has mounted a howling protest.
