The ICF blocks I ordered in April of last year were delivered in March, and the construction crew returned. They have built the garage walls and are now working on the roof.
Meanwhile, the price of construction materials has increased since I signed a time and materials contract last year. To pay for my garage I have cancelled all unnecessary expenditures for the rest of the year, and I am entertaining myself with activities that are free. There are thousands of stinging nettles and Douglas fir cones on my property. When the nettles started to sprout last month I harvested the baby leaves and made several batches of nettle pesto to freeze. This month I am putting the fir cones through a chipper to make mulch. It is very satisfying.
