When the construction crew leaves for the weekend Lucy and I head to the property to tackle our projects.
This weekend I built the final step in the first section of trail I cleared into the ravine. I sculpted the steps using tree roots, fallen branches, rocks, and a few garden stakes. At the top of the steps I cleared an area for a chair, which is where you can see Lucy perched in the upper left corner of photo #1.
Then I assembled Lucy’s new coop (Photo 2). In addition to her bum wing, Lucy now has cataracts in both eyes and arthritis in her legs. She is easy pickings for any predator. This way she can enjoy fresh air outside and still be safe while I putter around the property,
At least one of us has her new house.
