Two weeks ago the county rejected my garage building permit application, primarily due to discrepancies between the 2016 septic site plan and the 2018 construction site plan. To fix that I had to pay the septic designer to revise the site plan, submit it to the health department for approval, and then submit the approved revision to the permit office for review. I did that but I’m still waiting for the permit.
This additional delay frustrated my builder so much he cancelled our contract and refunded my deposit. I assumed that if I had problems building my house they would be caused by issues related to my chemical sensitivity. It feels so “normal” to have things fall apart due to government bureaucracy.
But the permit office did one helpful thing. They declared their office a fragrance-free zone!
